Terms & Conditions – “Smile Premiere League, Chandigarh”

(For the cause of “Making Chandigarh the City of Beautiful Smiles”)

  1. ORGANIZER

The “Smile Premiere League” (hereinafter referred to as the Contest) is organized by The Smile and ShowUp Foundation, having its registered office at Address, Mohali) (hereinafter referred to as the Organizer), in association with ProDense as its outreach and goodwill partner.

  1. OBJECTIVE

The Contest is conceived for the social cause of spreading positivity and community engagement under the theme “Making Chandigarh the City of Beautiful Smiles.” It seeks to identify and celebrate smiles that radiate warmth, optimism, and community spirit.

  1. ELIGIBILITY
  • Open to all residents of Chandigarh, irrespective of gender, profession, or background.
  • Participants must be 18 years of age or above. In case of minors, entries shall be accepted only with written consent from parents or legal guardians.
  • Employees, volunteers, or representatives of the Organizer and its partners, and their immediate family members, are not eligible to participate.
  • Participation is voluntary and free of cost.
  1. CONTEST STRUCTURE AND ROUNDS

The Contest shall be conducted in four stages as follows:

  1. SECTOR-LEVEL ROUND:

Participants shall upload a photograph of their smile through the official contest portal or designated social media handle during the submission window.

Top five (5) smiles from each sector, determined through a combination of public engagement and internal moderation, shall advance to the next level.

  1. ZONAL KNOCKOUTS:

Sector winners shall be grouped into clusters based on Chandigarh’s geographic zones (North, South, East, West, Central).
Zone winners shall be selected either through a judging panel or moderated voting.

  1. CITY SEMI-FINALS AND FINALE:

Winners from all zones shall compete at city level. The final round shall combine public voting and expert evaluation, emphasizing cheerfulness, confidence, and ambassadorial attributes.

  1. APPOINTMENT OF THE SMILE AMBASSADOR:

The overall city winner shall be designated as the “Smile Ambassador of Chandigarh” and shall represent the city in promotional, outreach, and community welfare initiatives of ProDense and the Smile and ShowUp Foundation.

  1. ENTRY SUBMISSION
  • Entries shall be submitted via (Website/Social Media Page) between (Start Date) and (End Date).
  • Each participant may submit only one photograph.
  • The photograph must be original, clear, and unedited, displaying a genuine smile without offensive gestures or misleading representation.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to reject entries not adhering to the above conditions.
  1. JUDGING CRITERIA

Entries shall be evaluated on:

  • Authenticity and warmth of expression
  • Positivity and overall appeal
  • Public engagement (likes/comments/shares) subject to moderation
  • Creativity or story behind the smile (if shared)

All decisions of the judges and the Organizer shall be final and binding.

  1. PRIZES AND RECOGNITION
  • Winners at each stage shall receive certificates, appreciation mementos, or sponsored gifts as decided by the Organizer.
  • The final city-level winner shall be officially crowned “Smile Ambassador of Chandigarh”, to represent the city in campaigns and public events.
  • Prizes are non-transferable and non-redeemable for cash.
  1. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND PUBLICITY RIGHTS

By submitting an entry, participants:

  • Grant the Organizer and its partners a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, publish, or display the submitted photograph, name, and likeness in connection with contest promotion or related public welfare campaigns.
  • Confirm that the photograph is original, free from third-party rights, and that all persons depicted have given consent for its public use.
  1. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

Personal data collected (such as name, contact, photo, etc.) shall be used solely for the purpose of contest administration, verification, and promotion.
All data shall be handled in accordance with applicable Indian privacy laws.

  1. LEGAL COMPLIANCE

This Contest shall comply with the provisions of the Prize Competitions Act, 1955 and any other applicable laws in force in India. If required under the Act (i.e., where total prize value or entry volume exceeds prescribed thresholds), the necessary licence shall be duly obtained by the Organizer prior to commencement.

  1. DISQUALIFICATION

The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any entry found:

  • To be plagiarized, offensive, fraudulent, or contrary to community standards;
  • To have manipulated voting results; or
  • To be submitted in violation of any law or contest rule.
  1. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The Organizer, its affiliates, employees, or partners shall not be liable for any loss, injury, damage, or claim arising out of:

  • Participation in the Contest;
  • Technical errors or service interruptions; or
  • Acceptance or use of prizes.

Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer from any third-party claims relating to their submissions.

  1. AMENDMENTS AND FORCE MAJEURE

The Organizer reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Contest, wholly or in part, in case of unforeseen events, technical issues, or force majeure circumstances. Any such changes shall be announced publicly on the official channels and shall be binding.

  1. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, and the courts of Chandigarh shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising hereunder.

  1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

Participation in this Contest implies acceptance of all the above Terms and Conditions by the entrant, including the Organizer’s right to interpret, amend, or enforce these provisions as deemed appropriate.
